AutoCombine
When holding Alt (same for Mac) and placing a Generator type TOP (e.g. noise, circle, rectangle) this component sets the default Combine with Input, Operation, Pixel Format as well as RGB (in case of Noise) parameters. The defaults can be set at the component parameters.
Only the operator you dropped
AutoCombine acts on the operator that just appeared in the network you are looking at, and on nothing else. Operators that surface deeper down (a package reloading, a replicator, a component loading its contents) are not drops and are left alone, and a batch too large to be a drop is skipped with a note in the Textport. Earlier versions could catch up on such a backlog at your next Alt-drop and rewrite every TOP with inputs in it.
Parameters
Its Registry page comes from FNS_ConfigRegistry.
Custom
| Control | Type / default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
ActiveActive |
on / offon | Turn AutoCombine on or off. When on, dropping a generator TOP (noise, circle, rectangle...) with the modifier held applies the defaults below to it. Off leaves the component installed but idle. |
Combine with InputCombineinput |
menuComposite and Set Resolution | The Combine with Input mode written onto a generator TOP dropped this way: how it merges with the TOP it landed on. |
OperationOperand |
menuMultiply | The Operation written onto the dropped TOP: the maths used to combine it with its input. |
RGBRgb |
menuInput + Noise | The RGB mode written onto generator TOPs that have one (the Noise TOP): whether the noise replaces, multiplies, adds to or subtracts from the input. |
Pixel FormatFormat |
menuUse Input | The Pixel Format written onto the dropped TOP. 'Use Input' leaves TouchDesigner's own default alone. |
KeysKeys |
textempty | The modifier keys held to trigger this gesture, space-separated (TouchDesigner key names). The default is an expression that picks the right keys per platform. Typing a plain value over it pins the tool to one OS. |
