oscMapper

Simple OSC mapping tool by AlphaMoonbase.berlin. Drag and drop parameters onto the UI, learn, and move a fader/knob to assign. You can also modify the min/max range. Right click on the folder tab to configure.

Its settings persist and follow you across projects through ConfigRegistry, like every other tool; the Registry page on the component controls whether it participates.

Get it

Tick it on the install page and it installs with the rest of your setup and stays up to date.

Download oscMapper.tox Version 3.2.6, the tool on its own. It works in any project, and this copy never updates itself.

ClearClear button Delete every mapping in the table below.
LearnLearn on / offoff Listen for the next incoming OSC message and assign it to the parameter you dropped on the UI. Turn it off when you are done assigning.
Edit DATEdit button Open the mapping table, where each row is one mapping and its min/max range.
ActiveActive on / offon Receive OSC. Off closes the listening port and leaves the mappings untouched.
ProtocolProtocol menuMessaging (UDP) The OSC transport to listen on. Messaging is the ordinary one; multicast receives from a group address, and reliable adds delivery guarantees at the cost of latency. It must match what the sender uses.
Options: Messaging (UDP), Multi-Cast Messaging (UDP), Reliable Messaging (UDT Library)
PortPort number7000 The UDP port to receive OSC on. It must match the port the sender transmits to.
OSC Address ScopeAddscope text* Which OSC addresses to accept, as a pattern. '*' takes everything. Narrow it when several tools share one port.
Local AddressLocaladdress menu, editableempty Which network interface to listen on. Empty means all of them; set it on a machine with several network cards.
Options: 192.168.42.66
Talkback ActiveActive2 on / offon Send values back out over OSC as they change, so a controller with motorised faders or LEDs can follow TouchDesigner.
Network AddressAddress textlocalhost The host talkback is sent to. 127.0.0.1 stays on this machine; use the controller's IP to reach it over the network.
Local AddressLocaladdress2 menu, editable* Which network interface talkback is sent from. '*' lets the OS choose.
